Barrel Stay Restaurant specializes in French and Creole cuisine. Open for lunch and dinner and located on beautiful Sandy Ground Beach. The Barrel Stay is famous for their Fish Soup, French style, with the roule and croutons and grated cheese on the side.
Rated by Anthony Ferrara on 07/09/06 We have been going to Anguilla for 25 years. The great thing about this island is that it has remained relatively unchanged for many years. The Barrel Stay was alawys a destination not to be missed on any trip. Having a simple lunch of fish soup(a must) and grilled fish while looking out at the boats is what this island is about. You can swim in the pool- like water between courses. When evening comes things get serious at this restaurant. Graham the chef owner has elevated the cuisine to a whole new level. This is island food the way it should be. Extremely fresh product prepared with a delicate touch allowing the unique flavors to thrill your palate. The atmosphere is still old Anguilla which can not be duplicated. An evening here will touch all your senses. The lights on the boats, the moon reflecting off the water, the sound of the breeze through the palm trees, the fragrance of island flowers mixed with the sensual culinary odors emanating from the open kitchen. Add to this the gracious warmth bestowed on you by Graham\'s other half Jill who handles the front of the restaurant as if she is entertaining you at her home.
