Pelican Craft Centre
Opened in 1999, Pelican Craft Centre is a cluster of workshops halfway between the Cruise Ship Terminal and downtown Bridgetown, where craftspeople create and sell "100% Barbadian-made" leather goods, batik, basketry, carvings, jewelry, glass art, paintings, pottery, and other items. It's open weekdays 9-6 and Saturday 9-2, with extended hours during holidays or to accommodate cruise-ship arrivals.
Located on the outskirts of the capital city of Bridgetown, Pelican Craft Centre is the first stop for cruise visitors as they disembark at the Harbour. With ample parking and within easy reach of the west and south coasts, long stay visitors should also plan a trip to the Village.
Pelican Craft Centre is named after Pelican Island, a small island which existed off Barbados before being incorporated into the Deep Water Harbour.
Along with the shops and restaurants, Pelican Craft Centre offers amenities such as restrooms and pay phones. There is wheelchair access to the shops.
