On the way to the falls we have a good view of bat cave,fishing villages, La Soufriere (the volcano) and learn about the island history. Also enjoy snorkeling and dolphin watching.

Getting to the falls is virtually impossible by land so a boat trip becomes a necessity. It is normally expected that you will swim ashore from any boat that takes you over, unless of course it has a tender, so be prepared to do as I have done and swim ashore holding camera and valuables above the water, or make other provisions.

Fortunately this is a short swim in calm waters, but the short walk from the shore to the falls is over a rocky, shingle beach so taking you shoes with you is a good idea also.

The short walk to the falls brings you to a large rock-lined pool which is fed with the cooling freshwater from the 60 ft falls. Swimming here give you one of the rare chances you will get of feeling cold in this part of the world and the falls offer some wonderful photograph opportunities.

Recently went on a privately arranged tour (booked by Sue Adams - Toto )with a group of experienced USA cruisers from the Sea Princess (This was our first cruise, so we were not sure what tours to do there were so many), so many of us it took two boats, an absolutely brilliant day despite the outbreaks of rain, visited the falls, swan in the lagoon, visited set of pirates of caribbean, had lunch, went swimming at a lovely little bay and even had Rum punch included. BEST tour we had on the cruise.
we even had an added bonus when we sighted some dolphins nearby, Baleines owner Wayne, and his crew (thanks Johann ( Will Smith lookalike ) and Orson who were on our boat), and the other lad who's name I can't remember.
HIGHLY recommend and will definately do again when we can get over to the Caribbean again
