Peter Providence is a self-taught artist with a passion for blending nature with culture in realistic style. He works in oils, which enables him to capture the effects of colour in light and shade. He draws inspiration for his work by constantly observing nature, the different shades of colour in a single tree, the shadow cast by each ripple as light shines across water, the reflections of figures (a stone, a piece of stick, a person) on the wet shore-line.
