Sugar Mill Restaurant
Located at the Half Moon Club in Rose Hall, the Sugar Mill restaurant is known for the quality of its dining and the beauty of its setting. Located on the site of the historic 400-acre Rose Hall sugar plantation, the Sugar Mill restaurant is aromantic spot to enjoy the restaurant’s “gourmet contemporary Jamaican cuisine.” Try the pumpkin soup with garlic croutons, or the tropical chicken pineapple stew, a flavorful combination of braised chicken, pineapple, sweet pepper, onion, and lychee served in a turmeric passionfruit sauce over a bed of rice. Other Jamaican favorites include Jamaican red peas soup, the daily curry pot special, and the jerked combination of chicken, fish, and pork served with mango chutney, rice, and peas. The restaurant also has a creative hand with seafood, noticeable in such dishes as the smoked marlin with Japanese slaw and wasabi vinaigrette and the pan roasted loin of blue fin tuna set on steamed calloo with yam pearls and mango sauce. Guests can choose to dine indoors or outdoors on the terrace overlooking the pond with its 200-year-old working waterwheel.
