La Habichuela

Once an elegant home, this enchanting, much-loved garden restaurant is decorated with trees, flowers, and plants and accented by Maya sculpture. The garden, lit up at night, is bewitching. In the 24 years since the Pezzotti family took over, there have been very few unhappy customers. Don't miss the famous crema de habichuela (a rich, cream-based seafood soup) or the cocobichuela (lobster and shrimp in a light curry sauce served inside a coconut). The grilled seafood, chicken, and steaks are also sensational. Finish off your meal with Xtabentun, a Maya liqueur made with honey and anise. AE, DC, MC, V.
