Rated by lola on 11/02/05 I bought a Gucci watch from the Ultra Femme outlet at the Cancun La Isla Shopping Mall. Althought I did save £300 GBP on the price as compared to the retaill value in the UK, there was a hairline crack in the watch strap which i was told was nothing to worry about by the store staff but after only 6 months the watch strap broke costing me £150 to replace. I tried to get the issue resolved with Gucci but apparently watch starps are not covered in their 1 year gurantee, and as i live in the UK it wasnt feasbale to try and resolve with Ultra Femme 5000 miles away. I would warn other shoppers that the hassle i went through in mending my watch outweighed the money i had saved buying it abroud. Next time i will pay full price and buy my next watch in the UK where the goods will be in perfect condition and after sales service is available if required.
Rated by Frank Fuzy on 07/21/05 I will make this short, but if you want more info feel free to email me at i2ripped@yahoo.com. I purchased a $3,000 watch from Cartier that is owned by UltraFemme only to find out when I arrived back in the states that the watch had been opened and had a hair under the lens. I was finally able to contact the person in charge if international Cartier sales who was wonderful and had the watch replaced for me. But that was only after several hundred dollars worth of international phone calls. I never received so much as a written apology let alone any type of compensation from the Mexican company for what they put me through. I actually found out that the watch should never have been opened by them since they are only a distributor and not a repair service. This is where it gets the best. I revisited the same shop a year later after being taking advantage of. I brought all of my papers and faxes and explained to the store manager what had happened and asked what they intended to do about all of the problems that they caused for me. At this point I was referred to the UltraFemme representative by the name of Oscar Bader who called me a beggar. He told me that I don’t deserve anything from the trouble they put me through. He told me that I was in another country and that Americans can’t shout and get what they want in Mexico. He also told me that it was just too bad that the $3,000 watch I purchased as new had been opened. As far as he was concerned replacing it months later was enough even though it should have never have happened in the first place. Needless to say I would not recommend buying anything from them. Yes, you save money. But as the saying goes you get what you pay for. So to all of you other greedy Americans who believe that if someone does something wrong that they should make good on it, don’t bother using your more valuable US money with them!
Rated by Frank Fuzy on 02/15/05 I like your website. However, I would like to offer a word of caution when shopping in Cancun. I purchased a watch from the Cartier Boutique owned by UltraFemme only to find out that it was defective and had been opened once I arrived back to the U.S. It took me two months to have the watch replaced by the U.S. Cartier Department. I wrote several letters documenting my experience to UltraFemme and they would not take responsibility for what had happened. Nor did they offer anything for the trouble I went through. My phone bill alone to call Mexico was over $100. On that note if something seems too good to be true, it is !
