Arecibo Observatory

World's largest radio/radar telescope. The observatory was developed by the National Astronomy and Ionosphere Center and it is operated by Cornell University under a cooperative agreement with the National Science Foundation. Scientists from all parts of the world come to this national observatory to carry out research projects. Open to the public for self-guided tours. Adults: $5, Children: $3. Open Wednesday through Sunday from 9am to 4pm. Also open Mondays and Tuesdays from Dec. 15 to Jan. 15 and June and July.
