Spanish Fort

Fort Conde de Mirasol museum is a historical monument from the 19th century; the last fort built on the western hemisphere. It stands over a hilltop overlooking the port. The Vieques Historic Archives is located in the Fort. The archives include thousands of documents and other materials relating to five centuries of Vieques' history, a great number of books and documents about archaeology, history, folklore and poetry.
