I was at the Pelican this morning and was suprised to see a young waitress to by passed me, just ignoring that I was there first, the other couples who used to sit down at that table. Seeing her bad attitude I gave my order to the cashier explaining the situation who sent me another who had no problems serving me too. Do you habe to have your picture in the newspaper and wear a suit to have SPECIAL services at the Pelican???? It appears to me that this young waitress was running for Mr. Dwyer like he was god. Does he owns your restaurant to have his place closed to anyone else. Are you not serving the public, regadless of who they are as long they pay you? How can you juge someone WEATHLY STATUS just by tipping or else? This young waitress was OUT OF ORDER this morning and now thinking to go back or not and to mentione to everyone else. PELICAN IS NOT WHAT IT WAS USED TO BE FOR ALL JAMAICANS even if they have no picture in the newspaper. BAD CUSTO,MER SERVICE. More »

Very poorly maintained, but while there I play it anyway. I played it in 2008 and 2009. They charge 80 US dollars + 30 bucks for very poor golf clubs. So in 2010 I will bring my own clubs since I will play at least 3 grounds during my week there. More »

We just got back from a week long vacation in St.lucia. We stayed at the Ti Kaye Resort and booked all our tours with Serenity Vacations in St.Lucia because the Resort was away from everythin and Serenity advised us best as to all what we could have done in one day like Piton climb and sulpher bath and sight seeing in one day. We also did a north island tour which took us to Pigeon island where we were able to do some Jet Skiing and climbed all the way to Fort Rodney. Our ATV excursion and Zipling were the most exciting. If you ever go to St.lucia book your excursions and accomodation through them. In addition we got $310 in house credit plus $100 cash back. That was a really great deal. I just spent my third evening at the new Giorgio's location above the rock cafè in Virgin Gorda. Last night i tried the duck served with chocolate mousse and others secrets ingredients that gives to this plate a fantastic taste. The restaurant is really beautiful, goergous table cloths and very elegant glasses. Wine list outstanding.

We have chartered three times in the BVI's since 2006 - the first and last being with Conch. I agree that they have an "aging" fleet (mostly former Moorings & Sunsail boats) - that's whey their prices are so good. However, their customer service was quite good on both occasions.

My partner and I are experienced sailors, so we had no problem resolviing minor boat issues on our own. On the first charter, the depth alarm kept going off - it was absolutely maddening. We tried to turn it off, but it kept on going. We called the office & they sheepishly replied that they'd been unable to fix it either. After a heavy application of rum and a bit of head-scratching, we were able to reset it & that was that.

Second charter, we were late heading out due to a last minute repair. The water heater oulet hose was leaking (the previous charterers had not noticed the bilge pumps working overtime...sheesh). We just worked around them as we loaded our gear on the boat. That night, I was alarmed to find 4 inches of water in the head! We pumped it out; called Conch the next day & we worked it out over the phone (there was seaweed in the flapper valve). They offered to come out, but it was incredibly rough & we had it fixed...why bother?

I think Conch is best suited to folks that understand there are no timetables in sailing and you just might have to solve a problem or two. I challenge anyone to have a "flawless" vacation while spending every moment of that vacation outdoors! LOL

We love Conch; have recommended them to all of our sailing friends and now they, too, are devoted Conch customers. We will definitely use them again.

DO NOT RENT FROM U SAVE! The place is a scam. The cars are JUNK and when you bring them back, they start blaming you for the damage! Before you leave with the car they take you around it so you can agree about what is wrong with it. But what lay person, occupied with their travel will catch everything? They were so rude when I returned. They use the whole experience to confuse you (it works) so that they can tack on extra money without you noiticing. These people were the only dishonest people I met in Puerto Rico. The rest of the island is filled with great folks. DO NOT USE U SAVE, especially at the Isla Verde location! More »

We had a very bad experience today while browsing a toy for our daughter at the plush toy shop at the Chrystal Court Shops. The employee was extremely rude to tell us not to take picture of the toy unless we plan to buy. Hello~ even if we wanted to buy, we were much offended and furious about the attitude of the employee. Naturally, we decided not to buy and left. The store should choose their employees wisely! More »

Yeah the place can be smokey at times and for someone who has a problem with smoking i can see how that can be a problem, but for me i dont smoke but at the same time i dont mind the smoke so it's not a problem. Other than that i absolutely love the food there and that is one of the few places i would order the food from on a regular basis, there and The Bombay Club. More »

I agree with Marnie de Jour. I have been ripped off by this store. Somehow my purchase a bikini and a t-shirt got switched around when I walked out. At my hotel I realized this was not what I had purchased and tried. I returned to the store on my way to the airport. The sales help informed me after walking to the back store that the owner was not in and couldn't do anything. I explained my case. I called back from the US and nothing for the past 6 months has changed. I sincerely recommend you do not buy from this store unless you make sure before you walk out that you have in your bag what you intended to buy with no intent to replace or return the object and certainly not if you change your mind. I feel sorry but compelled to inform others about such regretful incidents that are common in tourist traps. More »

I agree with all the other reviewers here and would give them negative stars if I could. We arrived at 4pm and called to receive our vehicle when they had no vehicle for us. We argued for over an hour and even had them pick us up and continued to argue to have them give us a vehicle, but the manager was extremely rude and unhelpful. We tried again the next day to get a car, but they still did not have one for us. This was after they had promised us one by 10am in the morning. We waited till almost 3pm and decided to just cancel the reservation. When calling their main support line, Thrifty did not seem to care about our experience and just said that "There is nothing we can do about it". I will never use Thrifty again. More »

Traveling a lot. Experienced many airline companies. LIAT IS THE WORST! Expensive, flight canceled, harshly employees, no customer service at all, lost luggage, poor management not taking responsibility, neither in the airports nor in Antigua, promises not kept, incompetent & lying personnel. Waiting for 6 months for an answer from headquarter. Very unprofessional!!! More »

Within the past 12 months, I have vacationed in the Cayman Islands, Dominican Republic, Paradise Island, Bahamas and now St. Thomas. We had an excellent vacation in USVI; one of, if not the best vacation ever!! After visiting St. Thomas on a Royal Caribbean cruise last summer, I knew St. Thomas was a place that I wanted to return to for an extended stay. I had no idea how much I would love it. Prior to this trip, Kauai, Hawaii was by far my favorite vacation desination but I would now have to say that the Virgin Islands seriously rival a Hawaiian vacation and are a step ahead given the travel time.

Overall, we were very pleased with the accomodations. While it is not the 5-star hotel with the updated decor (such as cabinets and kitchen and bath fixtures) that we are used to, everything else about Carefree enhanced our vacation: the view was absolutely breathtaking; the private sun deck and pool allowed me to relax and sunbathe in the mornings without having to feel rushed to get to the beach; the kitchen was equipped with every imaginable accoutrement making meals easy and we truly enjoyed the use of the outdoor grill. Needless to say, we made ourselves right at home and it was very hard to leave.

One of the drawbacks of the mountainside location are the steep and winding roads. We were so afraid of driving the roads to the villa at night that every plan we made was around getting back to the villa before dark. This made eating out at night during the winter month (sun goes down at 5:30) impossible but the fully equipped kitchen allowed us to feed ourselves while saving money.
