Soma is the only Formula 40 catamaran for charter available in the Caribbean. Based in St. John in the US Virgin Islands, Soma is available for daysail, term charter, and racing charters.
oma is a high performancerace cat. Every attempt to save weight onboard has been made. As a result, there are not as many creature comforts as a cattlemaran. There is no Jimmy Buffett, rum punch, or freshly baked bread.
The hum of the rudders slicing the water at 20+knot some Gatorade, and a Power Bar is more like it. Soma is a high performance race cat.
As a member of the race crew, you will get a chance to trim the sails, take the tiller, and fly a hull. We provide racing shoes, top of the line paddling lifevests, drinks, and snacks. There is a swim ladder and plenty of room to lounge on the wide trampoline.
There is also a port-a-potty down below. Bring plenty of sunscreen and a hat. Feel free to bring comfortable sandals or running shoes. Expect to get soaking wet and get blown away. We routinely sail up to 2 times the actual windspeed, meaning we can sail 24 knots in 12 knots of breeze.
