Located on a private estate high in the hills, this gracious three bedroom, two bathroom villa is a restored French colonial plantation house which is about 150 years old. The interior is partially furnished with antiques. A sitting/dining room is furnished in the old fashioned style proper to the house. The house is a good example of Caribbean architecture from the past centuries and has the typical scrubbed wooden floors and a verandah, which encircles the house on three sides. There are two double bedrooms with four poster beds, one bathroom (tub) and one shower room. The large swimming pool is fringed by a furnished terrace. The gardens surrounding the house are fully landscaped and are an excellent example of a truly lush and colourful Caribbean garden.
There is a guest cottage in the garden with a double bedroom, small sitting room, patio and shower room, which on application may be available for rental. The staff includes a cook, maid, and gardener. Separate quarters for resident watchman/gardener.
Soufriere is the third town of St. Lucia. It is a two-hour drive from Castries and an hour drive from Hewanorra Airport. The drive-in volcano, the health-giving mineral baths, and the scenic Pitons are all situated in the Soufriere area. Anse Chastanet, a nearby beach, is renowned for its excellent snorkeling.
