La Vie en Rose
St. Martin Restaurants
A handsome upstairs establishment overlooking Marigot’s picturesque harbour and Marina Fort-Louis, the intimate and romantic ambience with its subtle and elegant decor, ceiling fans, candlelit tables and balcony are evocative of a tropical version of Paris in the 1920’s.
In 2004, La Vie En Rose celebrated its 25th anniversary. As one of St Martin’s founding restaurants, it has since become a renowned island institute for exquisite French cuisine setting the standards for many of it’s newer successors.
The menu is extensive and delightful. Diners might begin with the house version of lobster bisque, served in puffed pastry, or sauted fresh foie gras with gingerbread toast and marinated fresh figs. Main courses include red snapper fillet cooked in a champagne sauce and served with pumpkin risotto, and veal loin with a poultry and vegetable stuffing. The elaborate dessert menu includes house versions of fondant chocolate cake and banana mousse served in a chocolate sauce.
