Beni Iguana's Sushi Bar
St. Thomas Restaurants
It's the only sushi restaurant on St. Thomas. Along with a handful of shops, it occupies the sheltered courtyard and an old cistern across from Emancipation Square Park. You can eat outside, or pass through wide Danish colonial doors into a red-and-black-lacquered interior devoted to a sushi bar and a handful of simple tables. A perennial favorite is the "13" roll, stuffed with spicy crabmeat, salmon, lettuce, cucumbers, and scallions. ~Frommer's Review
Rated by Tinabug on 09/04/04 Awesome! Because of them I have turned many of my friends onto sushi. The iguana sauce is the best! Gota get my Beni Iguana fix!
Rated by Mercedes Shelby on 08/30/04 As a "suhi addict" that has eaten sushi anywhere from San Francisco to New York to Europe to many parts of Asia, I believe Beni Iguana's is a good sushi alternative. The fish is always sea water fresh, the rolls are substantially larger than standard sushi, the location is lovely, and their beer is always cold. The mussels are, in my opinion, incredibly delicious, and the overall quality is good. It may not be traditional Japanese, granted, but none-the-less, good.
Rated by Dawn Smutz - de Lugo on 08/29/04 One of the best Sushi restaurants we have eatten at.. better than some of the Sushi places in our home state of Hawaii.
Rated by Brad on 08/29/04 Wonderful Sushi, large rolls. I was particularly fond of their mussels appetizer. Ask for the Iguana sauce on the side.
Rated by K. Patrick on 08/29/04 Best Sushi in the Caribbean! And the best sushi I have had EVER! Russ may have eaten someplace else and got confused after drinking too much saki, it's an honest mistake. But I will let others know about this site so they can state their reviews. Their mussels and large rolls are the best, as many locals like myself will attest. No other place I have eaten sushi even compares. I have friends and family who are former USVI residents who whenever they come visit MUST GO HERE TO GET SUSHI! They are simply the Best.
