Turks & Caicos Watersports

Sail Provo

The Turks & Caicos Islands are a chain of forty islands, only eight of which are inhabited. See flamingos, osprey, pelicans and frigate birds everywhere you look. Snorkel in crystal clear ocean water among spectacular Coral Reefs. Swim among sea turtles and dolphins. Spend some time whale watching. Or take a walk on a gorgeous white sand beach - without another soul in sight. We at Sail Provo believe that this is a destination like no other.

Sail Provo combines the romance of sail with the natural beauty of this untouched part of the world. Whether you choose one of our public excursions or an exclusive private charter, our four boats, ranging from 48 feet to 64 feet, provide the ultimate sailing experience. We are the experts at putting together the perfect wedding, an unforgettable honeymoon, an eco-tour, a family adventure, an extended overnight luxury charter, or a half-day excursion that will have you talking for the rest of the year.

We are here to make your visit a special one, regardless of budget.

The Turks and Caicos Islands and Sail Provo. There is no better place on earth to be on the water.

Enjoy.

Infiniti Bar - The Infiniti Bar was majorly over-rated. For the price they charge for cocktails I expect bartenders and servers to be knowledgable about how a drink is made and what's in it...especially in regards to drinks listed on their own menu! The servers were friendly and the ambiance amazing but it didn't make up for the poorly made high-priced cocktails.

Da Conch Shack - Locals helped us find our way to this fun beach bar stop! The owners were very nice and we were sad that we missed the Thursday night beach party due to the weather. The Rum Punch and conch fritters were amazing!

Coco Bistro - HEAVEN! The food and ambiance were spot on. The chef came out to great our party and it was luscious fun sitting under a dome of palm trees.

Sail Provo - In all honesty, I'd try another 1/2 day snorkel sail. We booked w/ Sail Provo based on TripAdvisor.com reviews, but from start to finish you could tell they'd only go out of their way to show you a good time if they were up for it. It was a very textbook snorkel/sail rum punch excursion, minus the fun and friendly captain and ship mates that I was expecting.

Lodging: Our party of 10 rented a villa in Blue Hills - Villa Sounion to be exact. The villa was gorgeous and we highly recommend it. Keep in mind, for most of our trip (early December) it seemed that we were on the very much windy side of the island. Our only complaint, they seemed a little unprepared for our arrival - the pool had not been thoroughly cleaned out and rooms had not been aired out prior to our showing up. BUT, the views and layout of the villa were amazing.

Taylor Beach/Bay - HEAVEN, once again! We loved this quiet, almost unpopulated beach so much that we went back 3 times. Sand so soft it was like walking on chalk! We saw fish, crabs and stingrays. Gorgeous!

Driving: We rented an SUV and a small economy car for our stay. Pick up from the airport via Hertz went on without a hitch. They were waiting for us outside of customs. We got used to driving on the left hand side of the roads pretty quick and highly recommend hitting the grocery stores if renting a private home.

Iguana Island - appreciated, but not thrilling. The tour guide lost his crowd 1/2 way in. Didn't seem to be worth the money. You could read about this place and come away just as satisfied as if you'd taken the tour.

All in all, our group traveled to the island to stay for a week and we purposefully stayed away from resorts most of the time to get a real feel for the island. We met friendly, helpful locals who brightened our stay and we'd most certainly come back. Travelers to the island must realize that they are at an ISLAND. Pace of life is majestically slower and all the better for it.
