Located 90 miles north of Haiti, the Turks and Caicos Islands are renowned as a premier snorkeling and scuba diving destination. With the third largest coral reef system in the world, the islands' underwater coral gardens are truly magnificent. The Black Forest is an intriguing black coral formation. Columbus Passage separating Grand Turk and South Caicos is a wonderful place to watch humpback whales from January to March as they make their way to their winter breeding grounds.

While East Caicos and West Caicos along with several other fascinating cays are uninhabited. Grand Turk is the capital and government seat.
